Fact-Checking Policy

The review process for factual, technical, and time-sensitive claims.

01

Before publication

Editors check names, dates, definitions, quoted or paraphrased claims, technical instructions, and material statistics. Time-sensitive claims receive a visible date or scope. High-impact guidance receives additional subject review when qualified review is available.

02

Verification method

Claims are traced to the closest available evidence. Conflicting sources are compared rather than silently averaged. Tests distinguish observed output from assumptions about a platform's internal systems.

  • Confirm the source supports the exact claim
  • Check publication and event dates
  • Review context, sample size, and limitations
  • Retest volatile product behavior when appropriate
03

Limits

Search and AI products change rapidly. A review date shows when the material was checked, not a promise that every interface or result will remain unchanged. Readers should verify current platform documentation before making high-risk decisions.
