How authorship, subject review, and contributor credentials are handled.
No invented authority
Articles are currently credited to the AEO Field Guide Editorial Team. We do not publish fabricated biographies, credentials, awards, or years of experience. Named contributor pages are added only when identity, role, relevant experience, and approval to publish are verified.
Contributor standards
Authors and reviewers must have direct professional experience, demonstrable subject knowledge, or a defined research role relevant to the article. A reviewer is responsible for material accuracy; a copy editor is responsible for clarity and consistency. Those roles are not presented as interchangeable.
- Relevant work history or first-hand project experience
- Documented responsibility for research or technical review
- Disclosure of material commercial relationships
- Agreement to the editorial and corrections policies
Bylines and updates
A byline signals responsibility, not decoration. Material revisions retain an updated review date. If a contributor's status changes in a way that affects trust, the biography and affected content are reviewed.
